4 hours and counting

With only a few hours before we begin our journey, I sit up and think about Haiti and I ask myself how can a land with so much chaos, unrest, and strife be so beautiful. How, better yet, why is it that I look forward with great anticipation and joy. The only answer is the presence of God. Due to the limited resources and the raw way of life that we will call home for 7 days, God's presence can be seen, heard, and felt. So the passion I have for Haiti is because it is in Haiti that my soul is refreshed and my heart is strengthened (1 Thesssalonians 3:!3).

There will be 21 men and women who will bring the love of Christ to the orphans, widows and people who have just lived through one of the most horrific events ever to strike the Western Hemisphere. Yet those who call themselves Christians, know that we have a loving God. A God who is always with them and who will never leave them or forsake them.

Please pray daily for the team as we work hard to bring medical care to those in need. But we are not there only to serve the physical needs but also the internal, spiritual needs of the people through daily studies from God's word. We will share God's word from the days of Adam and Eve through the life of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Haiti, the Land of Mountains, is a beautiful land but in the land Satan roams like a roaring lion. (1 Peter 5:8) Voodoo is real and Satan will attempt to do everything in his limited power to keep us from doing our job, so please pray for God's covering over us. We will need the full armor of God 24/7, so do not cease in your prayers.

The team is as follows:

Kal and Beth Hendry, Brandon Wells,Ben Bordy, Kelley Hinterschied, Patia Modia, Mariana Caro, Vinnie Ciccone, Bobbi Comeaux, Ed Boheric, Rich Blatz Joel Kohnert, Paul Alfonato, Jon Ballard, Andrew Nichols, Lindsey Whiddon, Jim Lyndon, Dr. Gil Gutierrez, Erin Malenke, Jerry Miller, Matt Weissman

Blessings,

Matt
